Man charged in Livonia Citizens Bank robbery

29-year-old Christopher Crowley also faces drug possession charges

LIVONIA, Mich. – A 29-year-old Romulus man is accused of robbing the Citizens Bank in the 31000 block of Plymouth Road in Livonia.

The bank was robbed Friday, police said. The man handed a teller a note demanding cash. He fled the bank with unknown amount of cash, but he left the note behind.

Police were able to get a latent print lifted off the note which enabled them to identify their suspect as Christopher Crowley. Livonia police found him the next day in Inkster, where they arrested him.

Crowley faces a bank robbery charge, a possession of cocaine charge and a possession of heroin charge. He's also charged as a habitual offender -- third offense.

He was arraigned Monday in the 16th District Court. Magistrate Barb Scherr set his bond at $1 million cash or surety. His probably cause hearing is scheduled for Oct. 15.
