Man charged with killing ex-girlfriend who was found dead in Troy parking lot

24-year-old Clinton Township man faces first-degree murder charge

TROY, Mich. – A 24-year-old Clinton Township man is charged in connection to the murder of his ex-girlfriend who was found dead Saturday in the parking lot where she worked in Troy.

A coworker found 21-year-old Jamila Monet Vigier-Cage's body slumped in the driver's seat of her car. She had been shot twice in the head and chest.

Her ex-boyfriend and father of their 8-month-old son, Cory Mullen, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and felony firearm. He was arraigned Tuesday in 52-4 District Court before Judge Maureen M. McGinnis. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He received no bond.

Police said they found Mullen in Detroit about 4 p.m. Sunday.

His next court date is March 18 before Judge McGinnis.
