Man charged with sex crime involving child at 'Boys & Girls Club' in Troy

Hamtramck man bound over for trial on 3 counts of criminal sexual conduct

TROY, Mich. – A 34-year-old man has been charged with a sex crime involving a minor at a Boys and Girls Club in Troy.

Aaron Massey, of Hamtramck, is facing three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a person under the age of 13. The alleged crimes were done to a 10-year-old between June 2012 to June 2014 at the club in Troy.

During a preliminary examination on Tuesday at the 52-4 District Court, Massey was bound over on the charges for trial. His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 12 in Oakland County Circuit Court.

The Boys and Girls' Club of Troy released this statement:

"Allegations of misconduct by an employee have been reported to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Troy. The organization is deeply concerned about these allegations, and is cooperating fully with local law enforcement authorities in a thorough investigation of this case.

As soon as the allegations came to our attention the employee was immediately removed from any contact with youth and banned from the property. The employee has subsequently been terminated, and is barred from any access to Boys & Girls Club facilities and programs.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Troy has as its primary concern the safety and well-being of the young people it serves. The organization does not tolerate illegal or inappropriate activity or behavior on the part of any staff member, volunteer or youth member.

The organization will withhold further comment on this case until the investigation is completed and the case is resolved."
