Police said the suspect, 26-year-old Marcus Allen Weldon, got into a heated verbal argument with two men.

One of the other men ran to his car and Weldon apparently feared the other man was going to get a gun, so he opened fire, police said.

One of the victims was shot in the chest and the other in the hand. They are both expected to recover.

Weldon is charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and two counts of felonious assault and felony firearm.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
