DETROIT – A man was found dead Saturday morning in a vacant home after shots were fired on Detroit's west side, police said.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired in a house on Mark Twain Street between Chippewa and Pembroke avenues. They found shell casings in front of the vacant house, which was unlocked. Police went into the house and found a man in a first-floor bedroom with a gunshot wound on the left side of his chest.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
