TROY, Mich. - A Troy man has been found guilty of assault with attempt to murder after police said he shot his neighbor in the face over a complaint about dogs barking.

Last August, David Keats was arrested and charged for shooting his 52-year-old neighbor while they were arguing over the noise Keats' dogs were making.

Police said Keats' three dogs were outside barking when his neighbor kicked the fence and yelled at the dogs to quiet down.

Police said Keats confronted the man and shot him through the cheek.

Keats was also charged and convicted on a felony firearms charge.

A sentencing date hasn't yet been set.
