DETROIT – A man was finally rescued from a Motor City Casino elevator Wednesday afternoon after he says he was trapped for six hours.

"I pushed the button for emergency, about three times, three or four times," Arnold said. "They finally said, 'Just don't stress,' and that was it. It never did go to the second floor. I tried to push the buttons to open the doors, that didn't work. I pushed the button for emergency and they said, 'Just don't stress.' I'm still in the elevator and they haven't contacted me back since then."

Arnold eventually called 911 and the fire department responded quickly and got him out. He was a little unsteady when he got out of the elevator, so he was taken to the hospital, but Arnold is safe and expected to be fine.

A casino representative said there is an emergency phone in the elevator. She said officials checked the phone and it is working. She also said there is no record of who might have talked to Arnold Wednesday morning.

The casino is investigating what happened and why Arnold was in the elevator for six hours.
