DETROIT -

Police are actively looking for an armed robber that walked into a dollar store with an assault rifle on Detroit's west side Sunday afternoon.

Around 3:15 p.m., the man walked into the Dollar General at 18604 Fenkell with an AR-15 style assault rifle at his side. 

He demanded the money from register right in front of several customers waiting in line.

The female clerk handed over the money, and the man fled from the store into the parking lot where a white older model Buick was parked.  He jumped in the car, and took off in an unknown direction.

The man is described at 6'0" in his 20's, approximately 200lbs., light complexion, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white gym shoes and is armed with an assault rifle.

The vehicle in question is a white, older model four-door car, possible a Buick, with partial license plate number 4047.
