DETROIT – A man was shot and carjacked early Thursday morning on Detroit’s west side when he was arriving home.
Detroit police said the victim, who is a man in his 40s, was approached by two people who demanded his vehicle about 3:30 a.m. outside an apartment building on Bryden Street near Elmhurst.
During the robbery one of the gunman shot the 40-year-old man in the leg. The victim was taken to the hospital and rushed into surgery. He is expected to be OK.
There is currently no description of the two robbers.
The man’s 2005 lime green Chevrolet Tahoe was taken.
