DETROIT – A 36-year-old Detroit man was shot and killed Tuesday night outside a store on the corner of Van Dyke and Charlevoix Street.
The victim, whose name was Norm, was a local handyman who helped residents with their lawn, people who knew him said.
Police said the man was inside the party store on the corner when two men walked in and talked to him. Officers said surveillance video shows him being walked out of the store with a gun to his back.
When they got outside, he was shot twice.
After being shot, the man got into this green pickup truck and drove straight into the building, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Family members have started to arrive at the scene.
Police said they don't know what the conversation with the two men was about.
