Man shot twice in legs at gas station on Detroit's east side

Victim is stable, police looking for shooter

DETROIT – A man was shot twice in his legs Saturday at a gas station on Detroit's east side.

Police on the scene say a 4-door 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix pulled into the Marathon gas station on Van Dyke south of Eight Mile Road. A man got out of the vehicle, announced a robbery and fired four shots. 

The victim was hit twice in the legs while getting gas.

The shooter got back into the vehicle and fled. The shooter is described as a black man in his late teens with dark complexion and braids.

The victim was taken to St. John Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
