Man uses hammer to break into Sterling Heights liquor store

Cigarettes, alcohol stolen from 'Liquor Book' on Mound Road

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Sterling Heights police have released two surveillance images of a man they said used a hammer to smash his way in to a liquor store last month. 

Police said the man smashed a glass window Jan. 22 at the Liquor Book party store on Mound Road and stole cigarette cartons and alcohol.

The man is described by police as white, between 40 and 50 years old with brown hair and a mustache. He was wearing a dark colored jacket that has a brown corduroy collar, jeans and brown boots.
