Man with semi-automatic handgun steals 350 prescription pills from Madison Heights Walgreens

Around 350 prescription pills stolen from pharmacy counter

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – Madison Heights police are searching for a man who brought a semi-automatic handgun into a Walgreens and stole around 350 prescription pills.

Police said around 11:05 a.m. June 3, a man walked into the Walgreens at 28600 John R. Road. He walked up to the pharmacy counter, pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun from his waistband, pointed it at the clerk and demanded prescription pills.

UPDATE: Suspect taken into custody

The clerk handed over about 350 pills, and the man put them in a bag before walking out the front door.

He was last seen leaving the store on foot heading north.

There were no injuries in the incident.

The man is described as around 25 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds. He had blonde hair and was wearing a light gray or blue hooded sweatshirt.

Madison Heights police are continuing to investigate the incident.
