DETROIT – On Thursday the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of 140,500 pairs of kid's jeans sold nationwide at Meijer stores.
Falls Creek Kids brand infant and toddler denim jeans were sold for around $12 from June 2012 through November 2012.
The jeans in question have a pink star or heart graphic design stitched on the outside front and back of the pants.
The Product Safety Commission says the jeans are a choking hazard to small children if the snap on the front comes loose and separate from the fabric.
The recall covers both boys and girls denim jeans in sizes 12M-5T, the name Falls Creek Kids is printed on a tag sewn in the waistband.
The jeans also were sold with cargo style pockets.
Meijer's website says parents should stop using the jeans and bring them to the customer service desk at any store for a full refund.
The stores says they can also provide a pre-paid envelope for returns by calling 800- 927-8699 to leave a voicemail with your full name, address, and telephone number.
