Metro Detroit gasoline prices falling

$3.59 a gallon at stations at 10 Mile and Ryan roads

Southeast Michigan gas prices are falling to under $4.00 a gallon for unleaded regular.

Statewide prices last week averaged $4.18 a gallon. This morning, prices as low as $3.59 could be seen at stations which tend to be the first to change prices, like the Marathon station at 10 Mile and Ryan Rd. in Warren.

It's much better than early May (May 4) when gas his $4.26, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

A variety of explanations were given for the rise in prices, but last week, prices began to fall just as a major Exxon Mobil refinery in Joliet, Ill., that had been offline starting running again.
