A prep star recruited by the University of Michigan has survived the second plane crash of his life but is in critical condition.
Fort Wayne, Ind. native Austin Hatch, 16, is in an induced coma in a Michigan hospital with a fractured skull, two punctured lungs, a broken leg and clavicle and broken ribs, indiananewscenter.com reported Saturday night.

According to the report, the single-engine plane left Fort Wayne on Friday night and was bound for Boyne Falls, Mich. when it crashed into a garage in Charlevoix, Mich., killing Hatch's father and stepmother.
Austin Hatch will be monitored closely for the next 24 to 48 hours and undergo neurological tests. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
In 2003, Hatch and his father survived a crash in Wells County, Ind. that killed Austin's mother, his 11-year-old sister and 5-year-old brother. Hatch's father is a pilot and doctor.
On Friday, the family was flying to its summer home on Walloon Lake, according to reports. The family was returning from Walloon Lake in the 2003 flight.
Earlier this month, Hatch committed to play basketball at Michigan, the alma mater of his father and mother, beginning in 2013.
