This year's cover pet is a cat named Trumbull, who was found as a stray, wandering in a parking lot near old Tiger Stadium by Paul Huxley and Cindy Pasky on Opening Day in 1996. He hit a home run that day: he had found his people, and his forever home.

Calendars are available for purchase online at www.shopmichiganhumane.org; by phone, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at (800) 866-9189; or at one of the three MHS adoption centers: in Detroit at 7401 Chrysler Drive; Rochester Hills at 3600 W. Auburn Road; and Westland at 900 N. Newburgh Road.

Proceeds from calendar sales support programs that touch the lives of 100,000 pets each year.

The calendar includes upcoming MHS events, pet health and safety tips, and a money-saving offer from the calendar's sponsor, the maker of Frontline Plus.
