Michigan sex offender registry website getting makeover

Offender information to remain the same

LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State police say that the website used to access the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry is getting a new look.

The site is expected to change Monday. Police say the level of detail and information about offenders will be the same and that anyone who previously received email notifications will need to re-register on the new website to continue receiving notifications.

Users can use the website to search by cite, ZIP code, county and offender name and perform a radius search for registered offenders up to two miles from an address.

Users can register to receive an email alert when an offender registers an address.

The registry contains the names, addresses, pictures, vehicles, employment information and listed offenses of nearly 38,000 registered offenders.
