Michigan State Police investigating a non-fatal shooting in Inkster

MSP looking for second suspect involved in shooting

INKSTER, Mich. – The Michigan State Police Second District Special Investigations Section is investigating a shooting that occurred near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and John Daly in Inkster.

Investigator revealed that witnesses reported that a red Volkswagen sedan was seen in the area of the shooting. While conducting surveillance in the area of the incident, MSP units observed a bright red Volkswagen Jetta. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Dearborn Police Department.

MSP marked units attempted to stop the stolen vehicle and a pursuit ensued.

The pursuit went onto Michigan Avenue west onto northbound Middlebelt Road where the suspect vehicle struck a civilian vehicle. The driver of the civilian vehicle was uninjured.

Charges are pending from the Wayne County Prosecutors Office.

Michigan State Police are looking for the second suspect that was seen in the stolen Volkswagen Jetta involved in the shooting.
