DETROIT -

Michigan State troopers have rescued a falcon that couldn't fly away on its own.
Michigan State Police responded to a call Sunday night about a Peregrine Falcon that appeared to be injured around the Cadillac Place Building sidewalk in Detroit.

Troopers said when they tried to approach the falcon, the bird would attempt to fly but then crash to the ground.

MSP eventually caught the bird and brought it to a bird sanctuary in Rochester.

The female falcon was un-banded and will survive.
According to Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Peregrine Falcon is one of the more famous and popular birds in Michigan
