DETROIT - A Michigan State Trooper is recovering after being hit in his patrol car Wednesday morning in Detroit.

Police said the trooper was responding to a separate incident on the entrance ramp from Outer Drive to eastbound Interstate 96, when he was hit.

He was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but later released.

Police said the driver who caused the crash had a suspended license and was arrested on outstanding warrants.
