EAST LANSING, Mich. -

Michigan State University campus police have issued a community crime alert after a student reported being grabbed from behind by a man while walking to her dorm.

Police said the 18-year-old student was near Akers Road and Shaw Lane at 1 a.m. on Sept. 14 when a man came out of the bushes and put his hands over her mouth.

Police said the student used protection spray she had on her key chain to fight the man off.

She was able to run away and wasn’t hurt.

Police said the student was only able to see the man’s arm and not his face – therefore they don’t have a description of him.

Anyone with information is asked to call MSU police at 517-355-2222.
