A Michigan woman will be heading to Israel later this month to compete in the 19th annual Maccabiah games.
Nicole Meisner, 20, is currently the top sprinter at the University of Detroit-Mercy.
She competed in the games four years ago as a junior and has been training six days a week at Oak Park High School for this year’s competition.
Meisner told Local 4 about where her motivation comes from.
“For the most part, I motivate myself and sometimes it depends on the meet or what’s going on. Like, for this meet, I’m really motivated by all the people I’m representing, all the people in this country, the US team,” she said.
Meisner is training with Tiberia Patterson, a former US track champion.
