HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Two men were hurt Saturday after a boat caught fire and exploded in a Harrison Township harbor.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham confirms the men suffered non-life threating injuries and were transported to the hospital.
The men had just finished gassing up the boat at Roy's Boat Harbor before the fire happened.
It is believed that gas vapors caused the explosion. Harbor employee, Tom Havey, says he felt the effects of the blast, reports WWJ radio.
Havey told the radio station the impact could be felt from more than half a block away; rattling the windows of the marina.
The boat burned and sank.
