TOLEDO, Ohio - Three dogs involved in an alleged Monroe County, Mich., dog-fighting ring could be freed in the coming days from an animal control facility.
The Blade of Toledo, Ohio, reported that Monroe County Circuit Court Judge Joseph Costello on Wednesday signed an order overturning a district court's ruling to euthanize the pit bull mixes. The order confirms a decision Costello made Oct. 20.
The judge says the dogs don't pose a threat to public safety.
The dogs -- Dusty, Reilly and Monroe -- are now expected to get new homes.
The dogs were seized during a March raid on a suspected dog-fighting operation in the county located along Michigan's border with Ohio.
