3rd Annual North American Lacrosse Tournament

North American Lacrosse Invitational comes to Bloomfield Township

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – This weekend, Southeast Michigan will get an up-close look at some of the leading high school men's varsity lacrosse teams from the Midwest and Canada at the 3rd Annual North International Lacrosse Invitational.

The tournament is set for May 18-19 at Brother Rice High School, located at 7071 Lahser Road, between 14 Mile and West Maple Roads in Bloomfield Township.

Select invitations were sent out to the top 12 teams (expanded from 8 teams the previous two years) from Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, New York and Canada.

Teams have met in competition during the regular season to determine tournament standings and brackets. There will be a champion named in each division and all scores will be reported to Inside Lacrosse Power Rankings.

Lacrosse is hot! According to the U.S. Lacrosse Participation Report, a record total of 722,205 players competed on organized lacrosse teams in 2012. The growth rate from last year was 5.5 percent, marking the ninth straight year of at least 5 percent growth.

College coaches and recruiters are encouraged to attend the event.

For fan enjoyment, there will be concessions, a VIP tent and local vendors on site.

The games run from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, May 19.

Admission to the event is $6 for adults and $5 for students. Children 10 and under are free.
