Arrest warrant issued against UAW Vice President General Holiefield

Charges filed in connection to shooting at Holiefield's home in December

DETROIT – An arrest warrant has been issued against UAW Vice President General Holiefield.

Holiefield faces a charge of reckless use of a firearm. The charge is a 90 day misdemeanor and/or a $500 fine.

On Dec.30, 2013 a 50-year-old woman was accidentally shot inside Holiefield's Harrison Township home.

Holiefield, 60, reportedly told investigators he had been cleaning his 45 Desert Eagle semi-automatic handgun at the kitchen table when it accidentally discharged.

Holiefield said he and a group of friends had just returned from shooting at an indoor range in Roseville and he was trying to "clear" the gun when it went off.
