Elatrache is accused of forcing his way into 72-year-old Mohammed Aljbaily's Inkster home on July 18 and strangling and beating Aljbaily. Police said Elatrache also stole money and other personal property in the home before fleeing to Canada.

He was extradited back to face the charges.

"The daughter of the deceased male has been being stalked and harassed by an ex-boyfriend," said Dt. Anthony Delgreco. "He's been following her to her work, sending her thousands of text messages a day, there was even a fight in Dearborn Heights. It's been going on for 5 or 6 months."
