Detroit man arrested, accused of robbing same restaurant several times

Wayne County Sheriff deputies take Detroit man into custody in connection with Tom's Oyster Bar robberies

DETROIT – Sheriff deputies arrest a man accused of breaking into the same Detroit restaurant eight times.

Two Wayne County Sheriff's deputies arrested  Leslie Jerome Griffin, 49, of Detroit, on Thursday afternoon.

Griffin is wanted for probation violation and several incidents of breaking and entering. He is suspected of breaking into Tom's Oyster Bar on Jefferson in Detroit at least eight times.  

"I want to commend these officers for their alertness in spotting this suspect and taking him into custody," said Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon.  "Getting him off the street is an important step toward creating a secure environment for businesses and customers."

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department said Griffin also was arrested for violating probation on a previous conviction in Wayne County of breaking and entering in February. 

Deputies said there is also a warrant out on Griffin in Highland Park.
