Fashion show benefits children's disabilities camp

"Shine" event helped SCAMP and FAR Conservatory

TROY, Mich. – Variety the Children's Charity presented "Shine," a fashion show to benefit summer camp programs for individuals with disabilities, on Sunday.

It benefitted SCAMP of Bloomfield, which is Metro Detroit's first summer camp for individuals with disabilities.

Slideshow: 'Shine' charity fashion show

The 5-week program serves individuals with a variety of disabilities. The camp features music and art therapy, along with social skills and language development.

The show is also benefiting the FAR conservatory in Birmingham.  FAR provides creative arts therapy and recreation services for children and adults with disabilities.

The program also promotes public understanding of the abilities and potentials of people with disabilities.

The fashion show will feature the children of Variety, FAR, and SCAMP.
