DETROIT – Memorial Day morning will be warm and dry for parades and commemorations. Temperatures will start near 70 degrees. Heat and humidity rise in Detroit and Southeast Michigan during the afternoon with highs in the low 90s, which will test the record high of 92 set in 1987, 1941 and 1911. A cold front will spark showers and thunderstorms after 5pm and into the night. Some storms will have heavy downpours and high winds. Nighttime lows will remain in the 70s with the threat of storms lingering for Tuesday morning commuters and travelers. There may be post-holiday delays due to wet roads.

Detroiters ride the temperature roller coaster down Wednesday through Friday as mostly sunny skies prevails with highs in the 60s. It will feel more like early fall as Michigan heads to early June at the end of the week.
