Man charged in string of student sex assaults in East Lansing

Police nab assault suspect just as MSU students return to area

EAST LANSING, Mich. - A man has been charged in a series of sexual assaults on students this past spring in East Lansing.

Police say Oswald Scott Wilder was arraigned Saturday in East Lansing District Court.

The 26-year-old Vernon resident faces one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, one count of gross indecency between a male and female by a sexually delinquent person and habitual offender, fourth offense.

He is being held with no bond at the Ingham County jail.

According to a news release from East Lansing police, Wilder is accused of sexual assaults on April 20 and May 16 and an attempted sexual assault on April 26.
