Her final race was Friday, the 1000 meters short track event.  She also competed in the 500 meter and 1500 meter events.

During each race she finished closer and closer to the podium.

In her first event, the 500 meter on Monday February 10, Smith wiped out and failed to qualify.

As for the 1500 meter race on Saturday February 15, she posted the following to her Facebook page.

"Well ended up 7th in the 1500m. Had some good races and one that wasn't amazing. Made it to the B final but good gosh I need an A final before I leave these Olympics! Thank you all for the support and the messages! Xoxo."

She did get to the A Final of the 1000 meter event Friday.  She finished fourth overall in this event.

Her parents, Rick and Reina Smith and her younger brother Travis, are in Sochi to watch her compete.
