Mich. Guard battalion coming home from Afghanistan

FLINT, Mich. - An infantry battalion from the Michigan National Guard is returning home after a year in Afghanistan.

As many as 80 soldiers from the 125th Battalion are scheduled to arrive Sunday morning at Capital City Airport near Lansing. The unit was involved in security missions and assisted the Afghan police.

The battalion is based in Flint and has companies in Detroit, Alpena, Wyoming, Big Rapids and Bay City.
