NORTHVILLE, Mich. – Police in Farmington Hills and Northville have released the sketch of a man who could be connected to two attacks involving women.

The attacks both happened Jan. 16.

Woman attacked in Northville drive away

Northville police said a 69-year-old woman had just returned to her home on Lake Street from the Northville Community Center at about 11 a.m. when a man approached her carrying a burgundy profile and asked if she wanted to take a survey.

Police said the victim questioned the type of survey and noticed that the man didn't have any type of identification such as a lanyard with an identification card or badge, so she asked to see some I.D. Police said that's the last thing the woman remembers. She woke up and realized she had been knocked out and robbed.

"This is someone who is a predator looking for easy victims. Vulnerable victims," said Northville Police Chief Gary Goss.

Police describe the man as black, in his 30s, medium build. He may have been driving a light colored, possibly tan, sedan.

Northville police can be reached at 248-349-1234.

Residents in the area are on high alert.

"You have to keep your guard up, don't ever let your guard down," said Farmington Hills resident Elaine Baker. "Every time I walk out my door I pray. But, I hope they catch that man because I am sick and tired of these bums messing with kids and women."
