PONTIAC, Mich. – 
Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and James Cram, who was driving a car Patterson was a passenger in during an Aug. 20 car crash in Auburn Hills, have both filed lawsuits seeking damages from a Royal Oak man cited in the crash.
Their lawsuits seek damages from Anthony Prainito, CBS Radio Inc. of Detroit and Robert Bosch, the company which leased Prainito the Volkswagen Passat he was driving. Prainito is employed by CBS Radio.

Patterson and Cram both suffered serious injuries in the crash. The Oakland County leader has yet to fully recover but has returned to work. Cram is now quadriplegic due to the injuries he suffered in the crash.

Prainito originally was charged with three counts of a moving violation causing serious impairment of a bodily function -- a misdemeanor that is punishable with up to 93 days in jail. However, the charges were dropped after both parties told a judge the issue had been resolved.
Prainito still got a civil infraction for failing to yield -- a $125 fine which has been paid. He also paid a seatbelt charge which is $65.
Patetrson and Cram both were not wearing seatbelts. They also paid fines.

The lawsuits seek jury trials and more than $25,000 in damages.
The crash happened at Walton and Opdyke roads in Auburn Hills.
