This year's second Junk in the Trunk event will be September 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Farmer's Market Upper Lot in downtown Rochester. All Rochester businesses, area residents, and handmade crafters are welcome to participate in the event.

Parking spaces will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. One space costs $35, two spaces cost $50, and there is a maximum limit of two spaces.

Those participating are responsible for bringing their own tables, chairs, and cash. Event coordinators suggest choosing items in the antique and vintage category to sell, as opposed to old and used items. Popular items are furniture, antiques, collectibles, dishes, glassware, and accessories.

Junk in the Trunk will also feature two kids activities from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Children may sell or trade items during the kids-to-kids sale held at this time. Parents can call 248-656-0060 to sign kids up for this event. Registration is free, but sign-up is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

"The summer Junk in the Trunk was a huge success. Since the event in June, we've had an overwhelming number of participants and attendees ask if we could host another event in the fall, so we are," said Stephanie Hellebuyck, Rochester Downtown Development Authority Events Coordinator.

The Rochester Downtown Development Authority will also be hosting 'Movies in the Moonlight' this July 20 and 27 and on August 3, as well as Big, Bright Ball on August 4 and Rochester's Great American Bake Sale on August 17. For additional information call 248-656-0060.
