Police: Van hits teen near Westland school bus stop

Police say van allegedly tried to move around bus when it hit teen, tree

WESTLAND, Mich. - Westland police say a 17-year-old student was struck by a van Monday afternoon when the van allegedly was trying to get around a school bus.

The bus was at a stop at Cherry Hill and Venoy roads. After hitting the teen, police say, the van slammed into a tree.

Police investigators say the teen was not seriously injured. The driver of the van has been questioned as the investigation continues.

No arrests have been made.
