ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Registration has begun for the third annual Cruise in Shoes 5K Fun Run/Walk presented by FirstMerit Bank.
"We encourage everyone to come out and register for the 5K Run/Walk/FirstMerit," said Sandy Pierce, vice chairman of FirstMerit Corporation, and chariman and CEO of FirstMerit Michigan. "This is a wonderful community event that celebrates fun and togetherness. Even if you can't participate, we'd love to see you there to cheer for family, friends and everyone taking part in the Run/Walk."

The 5k will take place on Aug. 16 at 7:30 a.m. It is the same day as the 20th annual Woodward Dream Cruise presented by Chevrolet.
The Run/Walk starts on Yorba Linda Boulevard and will continue onto Woodward Avenue, pass through the Royal Oak neighborhoods and streets, and finish at Shrine High School.
Anyone interested in the event can register online at http://www.CruiseinShoes.com/registration until Aug. 13.
Registration can also be done the day of at Royal Oak Shrine High School.
