Sheriff's Office seeks Pontiac man wanted for child abuse

Oakland County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old man struck 6-year-old boy with belt, sending him to hospital

PONTIAC, Mich. – The Oakland County Sheriff's Office wants the public's help in the search for a man wanted for the abuse of a 6-year-old boy at a home in the 100 block of West Cornell in Pontiac.

There is a three-count warrant out for 32-year-old Earnest Milton. The Sheriff's Office says Milton struck the boy with a belt on Tuesday.

He and his wife live at the home but she was not home at the time of the alleged assault. The babysitter is the one who notified the Sheriff's Office.

The boy was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries before being released.

There were 10 children living in the home between the ages of 1 and 12. Two of the children are Milton and his 29-year-old wife's. Three of the children, including the victim, are Milton's wife's from a previous relationship. Five other children in the home are the homeowner's children and are not related.

Child Protective Services have temporarily removed all of the children from the home pending an investigation. The kids are staying elsewhere.

Milton was released from prison in May of this year after serving time for domestic violence 2nd offense and delivery of dangerous drugs and a larceny charge.

Anyone with information on Milton's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP or Sheriff's Dispatch at 248-858-4911. There is a cash reward available.
