BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – A Southfield man was arrested and arraigned in connection to the overdose death of woman in June.
Police say Richard Patrick Babbie, 38, gave drugs to Tawnya Jarvis who later died in the emergency room at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital.

Babbie is alleged to have supplied the heroin and even helped Jarvis administer the shot in her Birmingham apartment on East. Maple Street.
After taking the drug Jarvis became unresponsive and was taken to the hospital by Babbie and another male.
The 37-year-old woman was pronounced dead shortly after.
The Oakland County Medical Examiner's office confirmed in an autopsy that Jarvis died from an overdose.
Babbie is charged with delivery of heroin causing death, a felony that carries the maximum punishment of life in prison.
He was arraigned in district court in December and bond was set at $30,000 cash only.
Babbie was able to post bond and was released.
His next court date is scheduled for January 4th.
