Stretch of I-96 to shut down in late March for reconstruction in Livonia, Redford Township

Interstate 96 reconstruction project expected to begin late March 2014

LIVONIA, Mich. – The upcoming shutdown of Interstate 96 in Redford Township and Livonia will begin March 24 or 25, 2014.

The interstate will be closed in both directions from Telegraph Road to Newburgh Road for a massive reconstruction project.

The city of Livonia is reporting the work will start in late March and should be completed by late October or early November.

An announcement from the Michigan Department of Transportation is due at a public meeting Thursday at Thurston high School in Redford Township.
