University of Michigan applications setting new records

Freshman application submissions up 10 percent from last year

ANN ARBOR – For the seventh consecutive year, the U of M application rate is continuing to increase.

Prospective freshman submitted 46,733 applications for the 2013-2014 academic year, up 10 percent from last year's 42, 480 record.

As of the first week of this month, 15,432 of those applicants had been offered admission to U of M, and 6,452 of those prospective students had already paid the enrollment deposit. 

Roughly 6,000 freshmen students are expected to enroll by the fall 2013 term.
