ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Ann Arbor is preparing to seal a time capsule that's expected to be opened 100 years from now.
AnnArbor.com reported the project is part of the completion of the Library Lane underground parking structure.
The Downtown Development Authority is asking people to contribute items that say something about life in Ann Arbor in 2012.
The capsule is expected to be put in place next week.
The Downtown Development Authority said the idea was inspired by longtime Ann Arbor resident Ray Detter, chairman of the Downtown Area Citizens Advisory Council.
A celebration is planned for Thursday at the site of the new parking structure.
