ANN ARBOR, Mich. -
Thousands of gallons of water primarily affected floors 3 and 4, said Peter Logan, director of communications for University Housing. The entire building was evacuated. So far, students living in floors 5 through 10 have been allowed back to their rooms.
Some students on the lower floors are staying with friends on campus. Those who are not staying with friends will be placed in local hotels or other rooms on campus, Logan said.
Students could be out of their rooms at North Quad for several days depending on the damage. They can go to their rooms once it is clean and assess the damage. The university will help the students with any personal damages they need to report.
The North Quad's dining room was not damaged by the flood.
