DETROIT - Turkia Mullin, former Wayne County airport boss, has cleared the first hurdle in her attempt to collect more than $700,000 from the airport board.
Mullin says she deserves the money because she was fired for no reason.
The board claims Mullin's contract was invalid to begin with. However, an arbitrator says her contract was valid.
The arbitrator must still decide if the board rushed to fire her and whether she is entitled to the money that remained in her contract.
