DETROIT – Looking for something to do on Martin Luther King Jr. Day? Metro Detroit has several events that will take place on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014. Here are ideas on how to spend your MLK day.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. High School will host their 5 th annual legacy march at 10 a.m.
  • Detroit Collegiate Preparatory High School will host their rally and day of service project at 9 a.m.

  • Wayne State University will host memorial bike ride at McGregor Memorial Conference Center at 10 a.m.

  • Sacred heart major seminary chapel will host a Martin Luther King Jr. day mass at 10 a.m.

  • Detroit Historical Museum will host the "Bring the Dream to Life" event at 10 a.m.

  • Historic Second Baptist Church of Detroit will host a Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration.

  • Gleaners Headquarters and Distribution Center will host a Martin Luther King, Jr. event at 1 p.m.

  • Cooley Law School, Auburn Hills location will host a breakfast program for Martin Luther King, Jr. day.

  • Palace of Auburn Hills will host the "Dream Big" program.

  • The Roeper School in Bloomfield Hills will host annual candlelight ceremony, walk and vigil at 5:30 p.m.

  • The Community House in Birmingham will host "The Race Relations and Diversity Task Force Presents 22 nd MLK Celebration" at 8 a.m.

  • Macomb Community College will host its Martin Luther King Jr. day of service events at 8 a.m. at John K. Lewis Student Community Center at Macomb's south campus.

  • Keeper of the Dream Scholarship Award Celebration with keynote address, Director Lee Daniels will be held at Oakland Center, Rochester at 11:30 a.m.

  • Oak Park High School will host Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration at 9 a.m.

  • Greater Pontiac Community Coalition and McLaren Oakland will host Martin Luther King Jr. day festivities at 9 a.m.

  • Romulus Community will host a walk and celebration at 8 a.m. beginning at Romulus Middle School and ending at Romulus High School.

  • Troy School District will host tribute to the life of Martin Luther King Jr. at Athens High School at 8:30 a.m.

  • Walled Lake Consolidated School District will host Martin Luther King Jr. day celebration at Walled Lake Northern High School at 5 p.m.

  • Warren will host a Martin Luther King Jr. day event at noon at Warren City Hall.
