Qline releases safety video in preparation of May launch

DETROIT – Detroit's new rail service will officially launch in May, the M-1 RAIL team announced Thursday.

In preparation for the launch of the new, sleek mode of transportation in Motown, Qline has released a 30-second safety video.

“QLINE’s grand opening will be a historic day in Detroit,” said M-1 RAIL CEO Matt Cullen.

“We’re bringing rail transit back to the heart of the city and connecting the Woodward Corridor in a way that’s already begun to transform the entire district.”

Construction on the line began in July 2014. QLINE made its first test run on Woodward in December 2016 and the streetcar system has gone through over 1,000 tests in preparation for operations.

The QLINE will operate from 6 a.m. - 11 p.m. Monday-Thursday,  6 a.m. to midnight on Friday, 8 a.m. -midnight on Saturday, and from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Sunday.
