WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. - Campaign calls sent to Wayne County residents from the Bill Wild for Wayne County campaign office were apparently not authorized or created by the campaign.

Campaign officials said the calls happened around 9 p.m. Saturday.

"We just learned about this issue and wanted to let the public know right away," said spokesperson Vanessa Denha Garmo. "Our telephone line has apparently been hacked and is repeatedly re-dialing homes with a message about another candidate that is not from our campaign."

Campaign officials said they are filing a formal complaint with local law enforcement.

"We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused Wayne County residents," Garmo said.
