Children donating their candy will receive one dollar for every pound of candy they donate, up to five dollars.

Those who donate will also be entered for a chance to win a free year Quality Dental Plan membership from OMFD.

The plan includes a free dental exam, complimentary x-rays, semi-annual cleanings, whitening and other discounted services valued at $299.

"Most people have fond memories of Halloween with their parents, but many children, including those in our very own neighborhood will be thinking of their parents serving overseas.  Some of them are even living abroad with their parents as they protect our country.  We want to make sure they knew that they are not forgotten.  Partnering with 'Operation Gratitude' is the perfect way for us to extend our appreciation.  Not only will the soldiers receive candy from Orchard Maple Family Dental in West Bloomfield, they will be also be surprised with a complete care package, containing other necessities and comforts from home," said Dr. Warren Woodruff, general dentist at OMFD.

If you want to participate in the event you can drop off candy at these dates and times:

Thursday, November 1st: 2 p.m. - 8.p.m.
